and conservatives are concerned about Obama's big-spending, higher taxes government?!?!

if you are a regular reader and you do not want to hear my liberal rant for a few lines, PLEASE DO NOT READ ON! i have refrained from politics so far because it can be so touchy. this is just a little sarcastic humor (but also a bit serious) directed at mccain. i do not want to offend anyone, but this is MY blog which is kind of like an extension of my brain, so there's been fair warning.

thank you tim for alerting me to this! i don't know why some people are concerned about obama's government spending and big liberal government! check out the price tag on cindy mccain's outfit. outfit. not house, not amount donated to help AIDS orphans or Katrina victims, not amount donated in college scholarships for future educators or underprivileged students. outfit. one outfit. one. ok you get it. check it out. was it worth it? does she look like $300,000 bucks to you? not to mention the cost of getting her hair, nails, botox, faux tan, waxing and lipo done for the event. ok. now i'm just getting ugly. i'll stop. it speaks for itself. oh, and also the price for the limo she probably rode in to get to the event and the private jet she took to get to the limo to get to the event....

Oscar de la Renta dress: $3,000
Chanel J12 White Ceramic Watch: $4,500

rings: $280,000
Four-strand pearl necklace: $11,000–$25,000

Well, at least she can wear the accessories with other outfits...surely she will, right?

i'm sure she plans to wear the accessories again. that would only be practical.

do you think she'll ever even wear that outfit again? or is that not fashionable...to be seen in the same outfit twice?

It's her money. It's not like taxpayers are shelling it out for her. If she chooses to spend it on an outfit, that's her choice. I know you'll disagree, but I'm a big believer in "if you can live the American Dream, the government shouldn't take your money away from you to give it to other people who may or may not be working at achieving anything."

I think she looks pretty sharp, but then again, I have no issue with tanning, jewelry, or botox for that matter. Here's to the first lady, who ever she may be, not looking like a little old grandma!
